Lately

Donovan is such a big boy these days!!!
We have officially lowered his crib all the way down to the floor because he's pulling himself up and using his mattress as a trampoline. He rolls around like it's a playground. We also had to put the bumper pads back on again because mini man managed to hit his face so hard against the rails that he gave himself a big bruise on his right cheek. Poor baby! He's pulling himself up on chairs and the coffee table. The time has come to baby proof the house for sure.
Donovan had his first Sunday in the church nursery last weekend. He did great!
He also attended his first wedding this weekend. We drove to Redlands to see my sister in law's brother get married. It was the most beautiful wedding and we had a wonderful time!
Clare was the cutest flower girl I have ever seen in a dress her Oma made just for the occasion.
My brother and I being the dorks that we are.
Daddy and Donovan playing around.
The ladies and one little guy having a great time.
And a few more pictures of my super crawler who now knows where we house all of his toys. He crawls on over, pulls himself up, and pulls out as many toys as he can before I come over and toss them all back in.

I can't believe how quickly this little boy is growing!

7 months

Well hello there! It's that time again... time to stick that little tie sticker on the cutest little guy around and capture his sweet rapidly changing self. So here it goes.
7 month pictures were the trickiest to snap so far. I have a feeling I will continue to say that for each month from here on out. No more laying him down and snapping away. Instead he wanted to sit up and then attempted to crawl away. At this point it's a slow motion process but he's getting faster with each passing day.
Donovan is super comfortable sitting up on his own now. It's been so nice to set up a blanket with a couple of toys and then proceed to get things done around the house. This is such a nice stage in his development for mom. I am loving it!
He's been such a happy boy this month. He's officially on a predictable routine schedule and (knock on wood) has been sleeping like a pro again! What a difference from last month's post. He sleeps from 7:30 - 6am when he gets up for daycare or 7:30 - 7 on days when his Oma is coming over to watch him or on the weekend when we have no reason to get up at the crack of dawn. He also takes 2 longer naps a day sometimes 2 hours each which makes for a very nice stretch of quiet time... for everyone. :)
He still eats about every 3 hours and has solid snacks in between. He eats solids at least 3 times a day sometimes 4. He loves bananas and will happily eat anything when it's masked with banana. He eats green beans, apples, pears, mangos (thanks for the recommendation Kirsten) and that's all for now until I venture out to the store and take time to prep more baby food.
Mini man still has only one tooth but is constantly chewing on EVERYTHING including Mommy which makes me think his second tooth isn't far behind. Thanks for all the advice about your little biters. Thankfully he's still breastfeeding and with a few stern "no biting!" pleas from Mom, we're back in business.
Hmmm what else? This month he's learned to reach out for who he wants to hold him. He rests his head on my shoulder when he's tired or feels like cuddling. (I melt) He adores being outside and is content for loooong periods of time just sitting on the porch in his little walker observing his surroundings or watching his Dad mow the lawn. He giggles and talks to himself when we put him in his crib for naps. He loves being sung to and is Molly's #1 fan. He has no self control when she passes him by. He pulls on her ears and her tail and pretty much anything he can get his hands on. She lovingly obliges.
Donovan's just the sweetest little thing! This is by far my favorite month so far. Take a look at how much this baby boy has grown...

play time and crawl attempts...

Please 3 day weekend get here soon. I am pumping while posting and I will feel extremely successful if I can keep my eyes open to finish this quick update.
Donovan is 7 months old today!!!! I will take his little tie pictures this weekend. But I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of him after work today. I love this onesie that he got from his Auntie Hollie. Perfect for the son of a PE teacher.

The little Mr. grows more and more precious every single day. And I can not believe all of the new things he's doing lately.
He wants to get and grab everything in sight. He pulls on hair, wants to drink out of your glass, climb out of his tub, pull himself up on your leg.
He's so content to sit and play now.
And his latest triumph is his early attempts at crawling...
I want my green cup.
Can I reach it from here?
Nope. They're going to make me work for this one.
Almost there!
Made it!
Can't wait to spend the next 3 days at home with my guys. All is good.
