Happy & Thankful

A whole week for vacation! Just what we needed. We headed up North for the week to enjoy time with family. The weather has been perfect and the colors on the trees is just SO good.
We were blessed to be able to attend Emmaus Church in person with my parents who were visiting the area too on  a little get-away of their own.

We had a yummy brunch at Grammie's house before sending Oma and Grampie off to their next stop.

On Monday we went to Apple Hill for all of our favorite fall traditions.

There are so many leaves in Grammie's yard this year!

Uncle Dave baked his famous cinnamon rolls with the kids.

Friends came over and the next generation of kids had so much fun playing together in Grammie's yard.

More baking.

A Thanksgiving family walk.

Family.

Apple Hill 2020

A Hein Family favorite tradition each Thanksgiving week and this year did not disappoint. While some things had changed due to the pandemic: masks and no pony rides... others remained perfectly the same: crisp mountain air and the smell of fresh apples and wet leaves.

Here are some pictures of our special day,
We started at High Hill Ranch.

And shortly after arrived at my very favorite spot, Delfino Family Farm. I had read that this spot was already closed for the season, but lucky for us, the grounds were open and we even scored a bottle of wine and a frozen apple pie on the way out.

All week long we have been making a game out of trying to catch a falling leaf. (It's much harder than you would think) This was Donovan't very first catch!
Photo cred: Donovan
Emmerson was so grouchy the whole start of this stop. Girlfriend HATES going for walks and doesn't find the same joy that mom does being out in nature.
Bt she started to warm up along the way... even telling me that she only "hate(d) it a little bit." I call that a win.

We ended our day at a new (to us) spot, the Larsen Family Barn. We ate some lunch and met a very sweet dog that calls this 6th generation family farm his home.
Such a special day with my favorite people.
Happy (almost) Thanksgiving, friends and family.
